Please arrive 10 minutes before class with: awater bottle, a towel, wear comfortable training clothes and shoes. We have water refill stations and towels available for purchase if needed.

I’ve never been to a gym before - what should I expect?

Coming to your first class can feel intimidating, but we welcome everyone from beginners to experiences lifters. Our classes are intentioanlly smaller in size, coached by a qualifed professional, and any exercises are scaled to suit all fitness levels. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early to chat with your coach, get comfortable with the space, and ask any questions.

Do you have any minimum age limits?

You must be 16 years or older to participate in classes at The Fit Space. Children are not permitted in the studio during sessions unless otherwise specified. See more info abour our Crèche sessions HERE.

Can I mix different class types each week?

Absolutely. Our programming is designed to be flexible and complementary, so you can combine Sweat Space, Fit Space, and Strength Space sessions according to your goals and schedule. Mixing classes keeps workouts varied, challenging, and fun while targeting all aspects of fitness. We have structured our group class schedule to allow our clients the freedom of choice when booking their classes and you’ll notice that at each time of the day, across 7 days of the week, we run a different class. This ensures that if you come at the same time each day, you’ll get variety in your training across the week. No day is like another! Our schedule also allows for you to follow your favourite classes around and still find plenty of options at all the right times.

How do I track progress?

At The Fit Space, we use block-based training programs to help you train with purpose and see measurable results over time. Each block runs for 10 weeks: we start with a testing week to establish your baseline, then move into 8 weeks of structured training, followed by a re-test week to see your improvements. After that, there’s a short two-week reset before the next block begins. We test your 1-rep max across key lifts to prescribe weights safely and effectively in both Strength and Fit classes. Optional time trials in Sweat classes help individualise distance and time targets based on your performance and goals, so your conditioning work is always relevant. This testing gives you a clear picture of where you’re at, guides your training, and helps you adjust effort, weights, and intensity across all sessions. Everything is completely opt-in and included in your membership. Whether you’re new or a long-time member, these blocks give you structure, accountability, and a clear way to measure progress, improve consistently, and make every session count.

Do I need to do both Strength and Cardio?

We recommend a balanced training routine of both weigths and cardio. TFS programming blends strength and conditioning to deliver full-body results. Strength training builds muscle, improves posture, and boosts metabolism, while cardio-based classes enhance stamina, endurance, and heart health. Combining both ensures balanced fitness and long-term progress.

How often should I train?

Consistency is key. For most members, 3–5 sessions per week is ideal to see progress, though it depends on your goals, fitness level, and schedule. Our classes are designed to be scalable so you can train safely and effectively whether you’re just starting out or looking to level up.

What are your recovery package and pricing options?

Recovery sessions are not included in membership, but you can add them on as needed to complement your training:

*Trial Offer: 2 sessions for $29 — perfect to test out the sauna or compression boots.

*10 Session Pack: $250, giving you the flexibility to use recovery tools when you need them most.

*Single Session: $30, ideal if you just want a one-off session.

See all recovery pricing options here for full details.

Are there any safety considerations?
  • Arrive a few minutes early to get settled and make sure your water is topped up.
  • Remove any restrictive jewellery or accessories that might interfere with the boots or sauna.
  • Listen to your body, if you feel lightheaded or uncomfortable, take a break or shorten your session.
  • If you have heart disease, uncontrolled blood pressure, respiratory issues, diabetes with neuropathy, or are pregnant, speak with a healthcare provider before using a sauna.
  • Heat affects circulation and thermoregulation, which can be risky with certain conditions.
  • Do not use the sauna if you are intoxicated, dehydrated, feverish or feeling unwell, heat stress can make symptoms worse.
  • If you feel light-headed, overly hot, or uncomfortable at any point, exit the sauna immediately.

Compression boots are generally safe for recovery, but like any recovery tool, there are precautions to follow; people with active deep vein thrombosis (DVT), severe peripheral arterial disease, uncontrolled heart conditions, open wounds or recent blood clots should not use compression boots without medical clearance. Start with lower pressures and make sure the boots fit properly, overly tight or improperly fitting boots can restrict blood flow or cause discomfort. If you experience persistent pain, numbness, tingling, excessive redness, or skin irritation, stop use immediately and seek medical advice.

Do not use boots over areas with open wounds, active infections, or acute injuries until healed.

Pregnant people and those with significant circulation concerns should check with their doctor before using compression therapy.

For both the sauna and compression boots, follow recommended session lengths (generally 15–30 minutes) and avoid prolonged or excessive use.

Do I need to bring anything to the Recovery Space?

For Sauna Sessions: towel, water bottle (we will have cool water for refills), wear comofortable and lighweight clothing (your gym clothes are fine), please wear flip flops or sandals for hygiene and comfort in this communal areas. Shower is avalilabe post sauna.

For Compression Boot Sessions: Wear whatever you trained in (boots are worn over clothing), towel (please avoid wearing the boots if sweaty, you must be dry to use these), water bottle (we will have cool water for refills), and socks (to be worn at all times when using the boots).

When should I use the sauna or compression boots?

The sauna is best used after workouts or on lighter days when your body needs active recovery and relaxation. Sauna sessions are 30 minutes in length but when you're just getting started we recommend building up to this, staying hydrated and listening to your body during these sessions. We would recommend 2–3 sauna sessions per week to support muscle relaxation, improved circulation and recovery. If you’re more experienced, frequency can be adjusted based on how you feel and your training load.

The Compression boots are most effective when used in conjuntion with leg‑focused workouts, interval training, or days with heavy volume. Boots sessions are 30 minutes and we recommend using them 2–3 times per week as part of your recovery routine. This helps reduce muscle soreness and boost circulation to get you ready for your next workout.

What are compression boots? How do they help recovery?

Compression boots are dynamic recovery tools that use inflatable chambers to apply rhythmic pressure to your legs, helping to reduce soreness and improve circulation. The boots help to reduce muscle soreness and post-workout tightness, boost circulation to improve oxygen delivery and nutrient flow, help you bounce back faster between sessions, provide a gentle, soothing massage-like effect for tired legs and support consistent performance by speeding recovery.

What is the sauna for? How does the sauna help with recovery?

The sauna is designed to help you unwind, relax, and support recovery after a workout—or anytime you need a mental and physical recharge. Reduces muscle soreness by increasing blood flow, supports detox, improves circulation, promotes relaxation, reduces stress, boosts overall wellbeing and helps you feel rejuvenated.
